A house designed around three existing trees on the property. Instead of seeing the trees as being in the way, they were incorporated into the design. Every room has a set of sliding glass doors that open to an outdoor space with a sheltering tree.

Instead of crowding the small house with bookshelves, the shelving system was built into the walls.
This little pocket courtyard is as a thermal chimney, creating a breeze as warm air escapes through the open roof, pulling cooler air behind it.
The water from the showers, sinks, laundry, is recycled in a grey water system for the gardens.
As the breeze passes through the falling water, it evaporates, cooling the outdoor room under the deck.
The mass of the rock wall absorbs the heat of the day, releasing it during the cool night.
